Mary Vanek Pozuelo, RN, LHRM, CMS has over 22 years of managed care, nursing, operation and management, and marketing experience in the managed care and health insurance industries. Her expertise in the medical field, along with her business experience brings a risk management flare unique to this medical management organization.

Ms. Pozuelo’s experience includes a variety of roles and responsibilities in various health care fields.
Ms. Pozuelo was partner and co-founder of CP Risk Solutions, servicing clients in medical underwriting and medical risk assessments, claim management, product development and program management, audits, contract and treaty wording and broker relations.
Prior to CP Risk Solutions, Ms. Pozuelo was an assistant vice president at Platinum Underwriters Reinsurance, Inc., responsible for underwriting Platinum’s Accident and Health business including stop loss, fully insured, carve-out programs, and short term medical. She was responsible for both financial and medical underwriting, claims assessments, marketing, program management and implementation. She helped establish benchmark treaty wording and underwriting guidelines.
Ms. Pozuelo was a second vice president and senior account executive in the Group Marketing Division of Gen Re Life. She was responsible for marketing and coordinating health reinsurance to insurance carriers.
Ms. Pozuelo was a vice president of Marketing and Customer Service and Pre-certification/Utilization Review of Strategic Health Development Corporation. She managed a staff of 53 nurses and intake coordinators for utilization review, quality control, and work-site risk management.
Ms. Pozuelo was clinical supervisor for a home health agency in Tampa, Florida and also worked as an oncology nurse at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

Merry Gann, RN, LHRM, CCM, ABDA has over 17 years of diverse experience in the managed care industry. She has extensive experience in operations of medical management programs, which include utilization management, case management, disease management programs, Transplant and Cancer Networks. Her other areas of expertise include nursing, medical management product and software development, program implementation, URAC accreditation surveys, hospital risk management and underwriting risk assessment services. With her many years of combined experience in managed care and nursing, she brings a wide range of experience to CPR Risk Management.

Prior to CPR Risk Management, Ms. Gann worked with CP Risk Solutions, servicing clients in medical underwriting, claim management, trigger/large claim review, miscellaneous medical projects, and Case Management services.
Ms. Gann was the Vice President of Operations at Strategic Health Development Corporation. She was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the medical management programs and all other divisions of the company.
Ms. Gann was Director of Risk Management and Infection Control for Doctor’s Hospital of Hollywood. She was responsible for maintaining infection control/risk management programs, policies and procedures and JCAHO accreditation for both programs.

Tammie Morse, MBA, has 16 years of underwriting experience in the excess medical arena where she has held positions with carriers and reinsurers, working with clients to manage profitable business.
She has serviced her clients in:

- Rating manual analysis

- Treaty language and negotiation
- Reinsurance support with underwriting audits
Prior to joining CPR Risk Management, Inc., Ms. Morse was with Fairmont Specialty as Senior Executive Underwriter. In this role, she was responsible for managing Stop loss and Managed care MGUs. These responsibilities included monthly analysis of a client’s book of business as well as facultative underwriting on individual accounts. While at Fairmont, Ms. Morse completed her Masters of Business Administration with a focus on Global business management.
Ms. Morse spent four years as Director, Excess medical within the Healthcare division of Munich Re, formerly American Re, in Princeton, NJ. She provided reinsurance support to clients and conducted quarterly underwriting audits. She worked closely with the actuarial staff to perform block analysis. She engaged her clients to establish plans to maintain profitability in a tough marketplace.
While at Standard Security Life in New York, as Assistant Vice President of medical underwriting, Ms. Morse helped to run the Stop loss Underwriting
department, managing a department of five underwriters. The department had oversight of MGU clients, providing assistance with facultative review, profitability analysis, underwriting audits, and policy issuance review.
Prior to this, Ms. Morse worked for Sun Life of Canada, Wellesley, MA as an account Underwriter while finishing her undergraduate business degree at Northeastern University . She acted as account underwriter for the Midwest and West regions. She was active in working with division actuaries in order to analyze provider networks.
Ms. Morse’s beginning in the Stop loss industry is attributed to her seven years at MRM and RAS where she performed many of the administrative functions integral to stop loss underwriting and policy issuance. Here, she gained an appreciation for the industry and for the value of industry partnerships and effective relationship-building.
Executive Vice President of Operations
Michelle Bailey, MSPH has been with CPR Risk Management since its inception as the Executive Vice President of Operations. Ms Bailey’s responsibilities at CPR Risk Management include the day to day operations of the company, accounting, human resources, program implementation, and marketing.
Prior to joining the team at CPR Risk Management, Inc., Ms Bailey earned her Masters of Science in Global Communicable Disease from the University of South Florida’s Public Health Department in 2010. While receiving her Masters Degree from the University of South Florida Ms. Bailey also completed a thesis titled “The role of polymorphisms in the spliced leader addition domain in determining promoter activity in Brugia malayi” that is currently published in Molecular & Biochemical Parasitology. Prior to receiving her Masters Degree Ms. Bailey earned a Bachelors of Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Public health from the University of South Florida in 2007.
